PRIVACY

Short version: we collect only what we need to run your dare. We never sell it.

WHO WE ARE

Dare & Commit, Toronto, Canada. Contact: hello@dareandcommit.com.

WHAT WE COLLECT

From the form: your first name, your dare, your deadline, your email, your witness's first name and email, and the currency and amount you choose.

From your payment: Stripe handles your card. We never see your full card number. We see your name, your email, the amount and the last 4 digits of your card.

From your emails: your answers (DONE, YES or NO) and anything you write to us.

From our website: our website host (Squarespace) uses cookies to run the site and count visits.

WHY WE USE IT

To run your dare: your confirmation, your reminder and "Did you do it?".

To tell your witness about your dare.

To take your payment and send your money back.

To answer your emails.

To keep the records the law asks for (taxes, payments).

That's it. No ads. No newsletters unless you ask.

WHO SEES IT

Your witness: your first name, your dare, your deadline, the amount and your answer.

Our small team: only to run your dare.

The services we use: Tally (form), Stripe (payments), Google (email and records), Squarespace (website). They store data for us and follow their own security rules. Some store it outside your country, for example in the US or the EU.

The authorities, only if the law forces us.

We never sell or rent your data.

HOW WE PROTECT IT

Only our team can access it. Payments go through Stripe, which follows the card industry's security standard (PCI DSS). All our services use encrypted connections.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

Your dare details: 2 years after your deadline.

Payment records: 6 years, because Canadian tax law asks us to.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data. Email hello@dareandcommit.com. We answer within 30 days. We can't delete payment records the law asks us to keep.

In the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in Belgium: the Data Protection Authority). In Canada: the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
